It's been more than 2 years since I worked with the real estate application. Aside from the passage of time, 1) it's not menu driven....you just start entry on the form; and 2) what I did is modify it so much that you wouldn't really recognize it.
We had essentially a need for a many to many linkage which is really not possible in database design. What we had was a situation in which a piece of property could have a farm lease on it and a mineral (oil and gas) lease as well. Further a farmer or the oil and gas firm could have been leasing several properties and they wouldn't be the same ones. Further, the problem was more difficult because where you would use addresses for a property ID, we had no address. What we had was called a Uniform Property ID. This is in Alabama only and is a way to pin down every tract of land in the state.
I created a record for the Property ID and a record for each lessee. Then I created a Master Lease record using the concept that a lease is just a piece of paper until it describes the property (Property Record) and the Lessee (Lessee Record). Thus one lessee could lease one or many Property IDs and a Property ID could be leased by many Lessees.
I worked on the Lease Program from home and have both an early form of the documentation plus an early form (it was essentially complete as I recall). I can send them to you.
